TAYLOR PHYLLIBUS GODFREY
MY REPUTATION LETS ME KNOW I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT TO
though it seems that you believe you can do whatever it is you please
though it seems that you believe you can do whatever it is you please
•• nicknames: Taylor Redmond, Tay
•• age: 29
•• birth era: Future
•• date of birth: May 14th
•• as portrayed by: Ryan Reynolds
•• your character’s body: He’s 6’2” and that right off the bat is somewhat formidable. Although his mother was less than five foot ten herself, Taylor got his height from his father, a whopping six foot five. He is muscular and thin, but more of a football player than a track runner figure. He isn’t pale, nor is he tan, and he tends to spend a lot of time inside. He has a slight slouch and tends to fold his arms a lot. This is not because he is unhappy or unfriendly; it is because of his shy nature. He merely holds himself a bit tightly, as if to protect himself.
Taylor isn’t the most attractive man ever born, and he knows it. He doesn’t understand why woman think he is handsome, he doesn’t agree with them, but that is their opinion. He usually lets his stubble grow out into a beard, but it can range between clean shaven to a full grown beard at any given time, since he really doesn’t have a preference. He has soft brown eyes that seem to glaze over things as if trying not to judge anyone. He has short brown hair that usually looks disheveled, and a somewhat quirky smile. All in all he is generally attractive, but has a self-conscious nature.
Taylor’s wardrobe depends on the era in which he is currently residing in. He tends to avoid hats unless he can wear a cowboy hat, in that case he wears it, because he likes them a lot. He wears scarves in the winter, and he doesn’t like to wear a lot of armor in the medieval era, though jousting requires it. In his own era he likes to wear faded blue jeans, and a t-shirt that says “Mother May I” in black letters across the front of the red shirt. He is inclined to sunglasses and a watch, of any sort. He also likes bracelets and though his left ear is pierced, he rarely wears anything in it.
YOU‘RE ALL THE SAME AND WHEN THE CURTAIN DROPS DOWN
you‘ll be replaced by something typical
you‘ll be replaced by something typical
•• likes: Motorcycles, his mother, photographs, family reunions, laughing, vanilla, roses, gardening, trees, forests, hiking, soccer, leather jackets, sunglasses, children, puppies, dogs, wolves, helping others, lap cats, climbing, morals, church, black hair, women, friends, and guitars.
•• dislikes: Airplanes, running, sprints, barking, fear, tears, helplessness, gossips, girls who wear too much makeup, bright lipstick, lipstick, pink on anything unnatural, screaming, strong wind, tornados, bright yellow, show-and-tell, talking about himself, memorials, and death.
•• general personality: Since Taylor’s Father died when he was eleven, he spent the majority of his life with his Mother alone. When Taylor is with his mother he is as talkative as she wants him to be. He is attentive, loving, concerned, and treats her almost as if he is the parent, and not the other way around. Although she takes care of him, he still takes care of her as well. Since he is a fully grown adult she has stopped worrying about what he does mostly, and since she has no other family around, he checks in on her a lot. He does tell her everything, but he makes sure to tell her anything she expresses a desire to know about.
Taylor isn’t the sort of employee everyone wants, no matter his character outside of work. He is a hard worker, and he cares about the quality of his work, but sometimes he gets distracted. He is better with physical labor, because he can daydream without anything bad happening. When he does thought work he tends to be somewhat melancholy, because he has to focus so hard just to get things done. He is fairly capable in mindless monotonous tasks. He likes to get things done, quantity more than quality is how his work turns out, but if he cares about the person he is working for, he will cares more about the quality.
Although Taylor isn’t the most focused worker, he is the most focused student. Since he loves to learn he will go above and beyond. When he was in class he wouldn’t answer unless called upon, but when he was called upon his answers were always well thought through and correct. If he did not know the correct answer he did not guess, so when he started, you knew you were in for a treat. At least the teacher was in for a treat, as the other students didn’t necessary like being shown up, and sometimes picked on him. But since Taylor had no father, was poor, got really tall at a young age, and disappeared for random expanses of time, without warning, he was easy to pick on. Yet despite being unpopular, and a nerd, Taylor loves learning, and always looked forward to class, it was lunch he didn’t enjoy, since he sat alone. Yet he was a strong person on the inside, and he coped well.
When Taylor was in school as a child, he was quiet, but when he was out of school he was downright reclusive. His mother was often worried about his safety, and so she would keep him inside with her. He learned her hobbies, and because of being a jumper he acquired a strong interest in the past. Taylor was always a bit crazy and fidgety in company. He preferred to be in small company or alone. Before his father died, Taylor was often allowed to go to the park alone or take walks; he became fairly observant and lived vicariously through the people around him. But he was much less comfortable and respectful than he has grown to be.
Although Taylor is reserved and somewhat reclusive he is somewhat different in romance. In Romance somehow Taylor appears suave. He is charming, considerate, sweet, loving, attentive, affectionate, and makes himself interest. Even if he doesn’t think he has much to say in a normal conversation, if he finds himself attracted to a woman, he will convince himself he is interesting, because otherwise he would have no right to talk to a girl like that. And with this newfound interest in himself, it comes across as confidence, and although he is quiet and thoughtful, he is quite charming because of that.
Taylor loves children and animals. He might not be the best with either, but he loves them nonetheless. With children Taylor is very gentle. Having been picked on as a boy he knows how cruel other children can be, and he tries to make any child feel special, loved, and safe around him. With animals, Taylor knows how fragile they can be, and how helpless, and even ones that can take care of himself, he knows they cannot speak for themselves, and feels that this justifies being very understanding and compassionate to them. He doesn’t think he would make a good father, but he secretly wants children of his own, or to run an orphanage, he feels very at peace with a child asleep in his arms, as if he can make the world a better place for them, as long as he can take care of them, and doing that makes his world a better place.
For all of his behaviors, sports has its own world. Taylor is compassionate, sweet, and reserved, but competition is not the real world. When Taylor is competing he is out for blood. His mother refuses to come see him play basketball, and he is completely alright with this. No matter who is in the audience, Taylor cannot change how he acts. In a game he does not know, he tries to learn as quickly as possible, and even when the game is over, he will ask questions until he is certain he knows what is going on, this ranges from strength competitions to mind games. He once had a girlfriend at a basketball game, and she was shocked at how he acted. The adrenaline goes to his head and all he can see is the goal, he isn’t ruthless, and he doesn’t get angry about the game, but he plays to win, and if he can help it, he does.
Despite how Taylor is in any and all circumstances, in general he is a good guy. He is intelligent, nerdy, strong, compassionate, and loving. He loves only a few, but he treats most people fairly. He does not have a lot or prejudice, good or bad. Because he was an only child he got a lot of attention, but since he grew up being taken care of by and taking care of his mother he learned that consistency is good. He knows people can lie, and he does not often see the best in people. He is a good judge of character and follows his convictions to the end. Sometimes he comes across as stubborn or stuck up, also highly nit-picky, but he knows what is right, and it bothers him when there is injustice. He likes words to be used in their proper context, he has strong morals, and he won’t usually pick a fight, but if someone asks him his opinion, he won’t even ask if they want the honest truth or a nice fluffy lie, he will cut right to the chase. He is good at what he does when he applies himself, but he doesn’t know how good he is, he is modest, humble, and unaware of people attention for the most part.
Taylor fears his mother dying, his mother going insane, ghosts, dying, falling, Hell, having children, being a failure, getting lost, embarrassing himself, caring, rejection, being found out as a jumper, and hurting anyone. He hopes he won’t die young, his mother will be taken care of, he will settle down and be safe, he can protect the people he cares for, he will go to Heaven, he will make his mother proud, he will make father proud, he will accomplish something noteworthy, he will learn French and be happy. His hobbies include Learning French, Collecting Guns, Cooking, Gardening, Swimming, Reading, Basketball, Researching History, Collecting Old CDs, Running, Collecting Old Furniture, Genealogy, Skating, Rock Climbing, Driving, Fixing Old Cars, Restoring Old Clocks, and Taking Care of His Mom.

•• general history: Edna Redmond was born before the United States, as it was called then, started to take over Canada. She was nine years old when Fisher Morgan was assassinated and Maxwell Rogers came to power. When she was fourteen when Lucian Fox came to power, and she was nineteen and in college when she met the wonderful Australian Sam Godfrey. Sam and Edna got married three years later, and when Edna was twenty-four Asia became Asian Nations, the first Continental Dictatorship. Oh, and another detail, that was when Edna gave birth to her only child, Taylor.
Taylor was a model child, innocent and compassionate. Edna, Sam, and Taylor were completely happy together, though with the Americas becoming United America , Europe and Africa following suit, tensions were high. When Taylor was seven the Island Act was Passed, and he only got to go to Australia once, when he was seven years old, before it became Pax Pacis when he was eight, and travel ceased. But still, Taylor had a good family and he was happy, his father worked in the government and his mother had a part time job at an antique shop. But then 2149 happened.
In 2149 Antartica was dubbed Glaciallis, and Taylor had his 11th birthday. But one more big thing happened that year. When people found out that every continent on the planet was claimed, and only one was a democracy, the UA people revolted. It didn’t last long, only about two days, but in that time someone held up a government building. That day Sam Godfrey was shot and killed. Edna was devastated, of course, and Taylor was crushed. Edna began working full time at the antique shop, trying to make as much money as she could in a dictatorship to take care of her son, while Taylor just immersed himself in history, the good old days.
As a child, since the death of his father, Taylor was mocked constantly. It seemed everyone was oppressed and needed something to take their minds someplace else. Tormenting a young boy seemed like the perfect solution. When Taylor was thirteen Dimitri and Philip Fox were born, and Taylor envied them that their father was alive, though when he was fifteen it didn’t matter. As a born Jumper Taylor had always had his secrets, and her enherited his father’s jumping watch when he died. But until things became too much for Taylor to take in high school, he’d never used it. But suddenly he was in Medieval times, free, for one month. But then he realized his mother needed him and he came back. Taylor took another break in college, when he was twenty, and returned for nearly a year to that era, working as a farm hand. At the age of twenty- one Taylor spent a month in the Rat-Pack days, marveling at how horribly wrong things could be in the world, his world, and he left when he became overwhelmed. Those people thought they had it bad, but they didn’t live in a dictatorship. When he was twenty-five he went back for another eleven months, but not to the Great Depression, he went to Medieval times again, finding it much more peaceful and comforting.
As things stand now Taylor just does odd jobs, working in the library, substitute teaching, moving boxes, whatever work he can find that he doesn’t need much formal education to manage. He keeps in touch with his old friend, since her family was moved to New York from California, but mostly Taylor keeps to himself. In the world he is in now it seems nothing can ever get better, but it is still his home, and he tries to survive, at the very least.
