Lake

The lake inside the cave is massive and run far back in the cavern, past the wall of black that acts as a veil for the rest of the cavern. The shores are rough and often slanted so watch your step or you might fall in. The lake's depth is unknown but it is deep to where if one attempted to swim to the bottom they'd drown trying. This freshwater lake is the lifeline for all living things inside the cavern and even for those outside of it. It is drinkable and safe for nothing lives in it. Now for things that take a dip in it to cool off is another matter entirely. Don’t be surprised if you happen to catch a pair of blue eyes looking back at you from underneath the water's surface.
