King's quarters

The King's bedroom starts off as one of the biggest bedrooms one could ever have imagined. It is decorated lavishly with all the elegant trimmings one could ever want. There is a king sized bed, of course, as well as pillows and blankets that appear to be the highest quality available. The room has one window that faces the courtyard two stories below.

Sitting beside the window against the wall lies a beautiful, clean oak desk that comes stocked with its own ink, feather, and paper. There is a small bust of the King's head that lies on top of the desk. Twisting it a full 360 to the right will open a secret hidden door to the right of the desk. Twisting it to the left will send an arrow flying at the person with murderous intent.

On the opposite wall of the desk is a large painting of an archer with his large bow and arrow. He is pointing straight forward, or in this case at the viewers. If one got within a centimeter of the painting and reached out to touch the arrow in the bow they'd find that it was real and wasn’t really a harmless painting of one. The arrow is the one rigged to fire out if the bust's head is twisted the wrong way. It's positioned perfectly to line up with the desk.

Beside the bed lays a large cushion or in this case the bed for the King’s two German Shepherds which were gifts from a German diplomat. They follow the King where ever he goes and know an array of commands, vocal and hand.

The door into the room is heavy and reinforced and has a number of bolts and anything else to keep the door from moving. It'd take a full battering ram and enough man power to break through, and even that would take at the least ten minutes but by then the King would have escaped already.

Two of the King's closest friends guard the chamber room when the King sleeps. When he's up and about they follow him everywhere and another shift takes the watch at the chamber door.
