CINTHIA JANE BORDEAUX
GODSPEED THIS LETTER AWAY FROM HERE
i've sealed it with my tears
and stamped it with my fears
i've sealed it with my tears
and stamped it with my fears
•• nicknames: Jane, Janie
•• age: 19
•• birth era: Medieval
•• date of birth: July 5th
•• as portrayed by: Danneel Harris
•• your character’s body: A lot of things can be said of Jane’s body. Most of those things are also common references to meat, but in her line of work, she doesn’t really mind. Standing at a fairly average height of 5’7” and a half, though most people ignore the half, Jane has to look up to most of the men she encounters. Jane has a slight tan, nothing to write home about, but it makes her seem as though she spends a fair amount of time outside. She never burns, but it gives a tan, amber sort of tint to her skin tone. Since she maintains a tan for rather long periods of time, she is especially tan, by contrast, in cold winters, because she still has some of her summer tan. One of Jane’s greatest assets is a reasonably large chest, not over-sized, and yet large enough to notice. Also she has toned abs, noticeably firm, and yet not muscular enough to be unfeminine. Finally Jane’s legs. Her entire body is slender and attractive, but her legs seem to have no fat, and the muscle is toned for any athletic activity she might choose.
Jane has an extremely attractive face, or so she has been told. She has a pointed chin as the end of an oval face. Her lips are salmon color, not a bright pink, and they rarely draw attention to themselves, though they are a moderate size, not smaller or larger than average. Jane also has dark eyes, either brown or black. She claims they are brown, but some people swear that are actually pure black, though usually only at night. The most important feature of Jane’s face is her expressions. A calm expression can be attractive, a smirk can be alluring, and a frown can be all anyone needs to know not to get too close. Jane can express a million emotions with her mouth alone, her eyes double the effect, and that is before she even says a word.
Although on some people hair isn’t too important, with Jane, her hair is very important. Something about having red hair is either alluring or repulsive. Most people see red hair and think of a fiery personality, and for the most part they are right. Behind Jane’s expressive face is red hair. Sometimes her hair appears more brown than red, but naturally it is red. When her hair is wet, or in the dark, she appears to have brown hair, but in light, especially natural sunlight, the waves of hair are a bright red. Jane’s hair falls past her shoulders in waves, usually only down to the point where her chest begins. Although her hair isn’t technically curly, it is kinky, and never seems to lay straight, usually cut in layers, and rarely pulled up, so it falls over her shoulders.
Firstly jewelry is a big fat to-don’t for Jane. At work it would only get in the way, and out about it is just something Jane finds to be a waste. Jane steers away from any kind of facial paint, as she finds it to be uncomfortable. At work Jane wears either white or pink, lacey bodices. When not at the bordello, Jane wears a lot more covering clothes. She wears a lot of gray and brown, though if she feels in the mood she will have some red in her blouse. Jane wears long sleeves a lot, and sometimes her dresses and skirts come up to her knee, but that is the most showy thing she does outside of work. From time to time Jane will go out in pants of some sort, most people look down on that since they think a woman shouldn’t be wearing pants, but since Jane works at the bordello, she doesn’t always care what people think of her.
MY WORK HERE IS THROUGH
i’m on my way to better days
and so are you
i’m on my way to better days
and so are you
•• likes: Riding horses, men, sex (sometimes), compliments, dolls, water, debates, rain, black, white, red, blue, purple, flowers, sunshine, sunlight, friends, hugs, holding hands, being protected, and love.
•• dislikes: Swimming, snakes, loud noises, makeup, pain, thunder, lightning, fire, abandonment, high walls, mind games, men, people who look down on her, hypocrites, arguments, death, midnight, luck, and fighting.
•• general personality: When Jane is working she takes on her persona. She is feisty, attentive, anything her customer happens to want. She usually doesn’t say much, though when the situation calls for it, she will chat up her customers. She is good at what she does and she acts like she enjoys every moment. Because of her work she is a good actress, charming, and always happy, though not necessarily perky, because that can get annoying quickly.
Despite what she does for a living, Jane is moral. She knows the difference between wrong and right, and she knows what she does is wrong. Because of that she generally keeps to herself and does not make friends with the other residents of the bordello. She is also judgmental. Jane judges herself more than anyone else could hope to dream. She is hard on herself, especially when she makes a mistake, and even in her day to day habits. Sometimes she thinks she is a bad person, but she tries to remember what her mother used to tell her.
Jane is compassionate and loving. She has a good memory, and can almost quote entire conversations, though sometimes minor things slip her mind. Though Jane is compassionate and has a lot of pity for people who she deems helpless, she is also very unforgiving. Jane is a master of holding grudges and if you get on her bad side, you might not know it, but you should be warned. Jane does not cause fights, and she hates arguments, but debates she enjoys. She is very stubborn, and though it is possible, it is very hard to change her mind on something.
Jane fears dying, drowning, burning, and being alone. She fears being poor, snaked, being judged, being useless, and being nothing. She also fears the idea of never being free. She hopes to live a long life, and to fall in love. She hopes to get married some day, and have children. She hopes to stop working, to be protected, and to move somewhere where no one knows her. She hopes to be happy. Her hobbies are sex, reading, poetry, singing, dancing, running, cooking, and storytelling.
•• hometown: Liebe
•• job(s): Lady of the Knight
•• general history: Carlson and Laura were loving and attentive parents. They had the perfect little family, and little bright eyed Cinthia was always happy with them. Laura used to always tell her daughter “No matter what anyone says about you or does to you, I love you, and you are my little princess.” And nothing meant more to Cinthia than hearing that whenever something got her down. But when she was ten Carlson died. He was fishing on his small boat, getting food for his family, and a storm came in fast, and Carlson drowned. Laura and Cinthia were devastated, they moved away from the water within the week. A month after they settled down Laura was cooking dinner, and got distracted. By the time Cinthia got home from a walk their house had burnt down, burning Laura alive in the process.
Cinthia did two things after her mother’s funeral. She moved to Golisvear and started going by her middle name, Jane. A slight side effect of the fact that both parents died trying to get her dinner was that Jane became anorexic, by choice and circumstance, for two years. Jane had a stint in an orphanage, but about a month later she ran away, by then she was nearly thirteen years old. Jane had noticed that she got a lot of positive attention based on her appearance.
Jane found herself at a bordello and wandered around outside, unsure whether or not to go inside. She was noticed soon enough and the Madam let her live there, though she wasn’t allowed to work until she was seventeen. So for four years she lived in the Bordello, alongside another young resident. Jason was a year older than him, and though she kept to herself for the most part, it would have been impossible not to notice another child living in the Bordello. Jane and Jason became friends and Jane held Jason to somewhat of a higher standard than the men who came to the bordello.
When Jason started his rather explosive, in Jane’s mind, relationship with one of the girls of the Bordello Jane began to ignore him. When Jason bought the bordello Jane more or less stopped noticing him, or made herself scarce when he was around. A few of the girls accused her of having a crush on Jason and merely being hurt when he started his relationship. Jane denied it, and in truth she didn’t have a crush on him. But her morals told her that what she was doing was wrong, and for years she’d held him to a higher standard, and to see he wasn’t at that higher standard hurt her, and she was reminded that the world was just the world, and no one was perfect.
