Every suppressive planet needs a rebellion, right? Right. So this is where The Underground comes into play. 2159 marks the fifteenth year of The Underground, but don’t say that in public. Any mention of The Underground in Public can be sure to meet with quick arrest and interrogation. Most believe it is merely a legend, a story teenagers tell to sound cool, but it is a real thing. A few uninhabited towns in the middle of UA house The Underground bases of operation. Each Continent has its own form of the Underground, some more literal than others, and even free Pax Pacis has an underground that communicates illegally with other continents to send them aid.
The UA Underground has a two sub bases, one in California, and one in New York, assorted rooms in some of the abandoned buildings. They are known for encoded letters and secret radio transmissions and even have one or two people in the government working for them, but since the execution of Ronald Theodore in 2156, after he was found to be leaking messages to The Underground, the work within the government has been much less active and much more secretive. The Underground gets relief and some drug rehabilitation for citizens who prove trustworthy and can contact them. For the most part getting into The Underground’s trusts is nearly as hard as getting into the Fox families alliance, since they are both powerful and many people want them destroyed. The Underground also houses orphanages and training facilities, but overall has a much more lax and democratic feeling to it.
Leadership is a strong part of The Underground, and trust is a big issue. Currently Delta is in charge, though his real name, real age, and sometimes his face as kept a secret in general so he can travel through the regular world without being assassinated. Tau, whose relationship with Delta is a large mystery, stepped into the scene in Delta’s sixth year as Underground leader, in 2158, and though she has a lot of power and has never failed at a task, some doubt her capabilities and disapprove of Delta’s allowing her to have so much power.
